LA Noire

Los Angeles, 1947. Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood’s Golder Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what’s right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.

One of customer review from Amazon : “Anyone going into this expecting GTA San Andreas in the 20’s will be severely disappointed. This game never tries to be that. It takes on a linear path in a beautiful open world and provides an atmosphere that no other game I have played has been able to match. It’ll remind you bit of Mad Men, you’ll even notice some of the actors from Mad Men provided animation for the game. Speaking of that the facial and character animations in this game are absolutely fantastic. My gripe with the game however is that looking past the aesthetic appeal the actual “game” parts are less than they could have been. The incredible world provides so much unused potential and the actual detective parts of the game do not meet it. I am not game designer so do not look at me for ideas, but it does not take a genius to look at this stunning game and see that it could have been so much more. Still if this is a sign of the direction games are going then count me in.
